I was born in 1964 on the island of La Gonave. I have two daughters – Kavakia (13) and Delfina (10). My older daughter lives with me and the younger one is with my sister back on La Gonave. I am not married. I came to Port au Prince in 1983 with my father and sister to look for work. We came and lived with my aunt and uncle for a month and then returned. I came back to Port with one of my girls in 1990. I now live in an area outside of Port called Croix des Mission. I attend a church there called New Life Church. I love to cook, go to the market, and talk with other women. I used to work as a saleswoman selling used clothing on the street. It was a hard way to make a living. I would like to get a job sewing to provide for my family. I want my girls to have a chance to be a lawyer or a doctor.
